THE'Thousand Islands archipelago is located in the St.Lawrence River on the border between the Canada and the United States. The Canadian islands are part of the province ofOntario while the American Islands are in the state of new York. It is a region with a magnificent panorama.
Understand
The Thousand Islands form an archipelago along 80 km in the St. Lawrence River where it emerges from Lake Ontario. They are located on the border between the Canada and the United States downstream of Kingston in Ontario. The archipelago comprises a total of 1,865 islands. Some have an area of more than 100 km2 while others are tiny. The number of islands was determined according to the criteria that they must be above sea level for 365 days per year, that they must have at least two trees or shrubs and have an area of at least 6 feet squares, that is to say a little less than 2 m2.
Today, construction in the Thousand Islands is controlled.
