Minsk (white. Мінск, Russian. Минск) - the capital and the largest city Belarus. It is located in the central part of the country, on the river Svisloch. The largest political and economic center of the country.
Characteristic
Minsk is one of the largest cities in Eastern Europe, the largest economic, cultural and scientific center of the country. It houses the secretariat of the Commonwealth of Independent States founded in 1999. In addition, there are also many other important objects (including scientific ones).
Formerly, Minsk was the royal city of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of the First Polish Republic, and then the place of meetings of the land assemblies of the Minsk district, from the 16th century to the first half of the 18th century.
