Montmagny is the capital of eponymous regional county municipality located in the region of Chaudière-Appalaches to Quebec.
The city is known for its annual snow goose festival held in October. Indeed, it is visited every year by thousands of snow geese. Moreover, these have inspired the name of several hotels, restaurants and streets of the city. Montmagny is also a great spot for shorebird watching. The city is home to one of the province's 28 migratory bird sanctuaries.

- Isle-aux-Grues archipelago – Archipelago 21 islands located in the St. Lawrence River. Only Isle-aux-Grues and Grosse-Île are accessible to the public. The Montmagny wharf offers a privileged river access route to reach Isle-aux-Grues since the Société des traversiers du Québec operates a ferry to it.
