Tourist Attractions

  • Genesee Country Nature Center, at the Genesee Country Village & Museum. Park open all year round with a Nature center and hiking trails.Price: Entry $ 4 (Seniors $ 3.50, Children 4-16 $ 3).
  • Genesee Country Village & Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Rd, a little west of the village. Tel.: 1 585-538-6822. Open-air museum with 68 reconstructed and fully furnished buildings from the 19th century. On the main visiting days, most of the buildings are populated by volunteers who wear contemporary clothing and show visitors traditional handicrafts in an authentic setting. The complex also includes a carriage museum and an art exhibition. Foot sick and families with small children can cover many distances in this very extensive museum in a tractor-pulled "hay wagon". Allow at least half a day for the visit. Since the museum restaurant only offers the usual, moderately interesting hamburger cuisine, picky eaters are well advised to bring their own packed lunch.Open: Seasonally changing opening times. The museum is definitely closed from November to April and on Mondays.Price: Entry $ 14 (Seniors $ 11, Children 4-16 $ 8).
