background
The Mullerthal is a region full of nature with beautiful panoramas. There is an abundance of hiking and other cycling routes and tours. The Mullerthal is roughly the same size as the canton of Echternach. Occasionally cities like Diekirch counted to Mullerthal, but in general the Mullerthal is identical to the canton of Echternach, with Echternach being the largest city.

The natural beauty of the Mullerthal region is breathtaking. On one side the Mullerthal Forest with sights like that Shooting pool (Luxembourgish Schéissendëmpel), a picturesque waterfall, the Hohllay, a hollow rock near Berdorf, which was once used for the extraction of millstones, and the Beaufort castles, some of which are only ruins, but others are well preserved and open for tours.
The city of Echternach impresses with several museums about the past of the city in the Christian area, a largely intact city wall with apartments built into the towers, and with several festivals, one of which is the e-Lake festival, which takes place annually on Lac d'Echternach , the greatest is.
Another man-made landmark is the Aquatower in Berdorf. It has a panorama deck at a height of 55 meters from which you have a good view of the Mullerthal.
activities
kitchen
The Mullerthal region has a large number of regional products, ranging from sausages and cheese to liqueurs.
- In the castle of Beaufort they make their own liqueur, the Cassero, made from black currants. It can be drunk unmixed as a liqueur, or mixed with sparkling wine, white wine (Kir), sparkling wine (Kir Royal), or hot water as grog. Cassero cherry is cassero mixed with kirsch. You can buy it in shops selling local products, such as the bakery in Consdorf, but of course you can also buy it in Beaufort.
- La Framboise des Bois is a liqueur made from wild raspberries.
- La Vieille Prune is a plum brandy.
