Nema (النعمة, DMG an-Naʿma) is a city in the southeast Mauritania on the eastern edge of the Erg Aoukar. The place was a stop on the Dakar Rally several times (stage mostly Tichit - Néma).

Néma is an oasis town predominantly inhabited by Moors, which is an important trading post for trade with Mali is. It is the capital of the Hodh Ech Chargui region and therefore also the seat of the governor. The exact number of inhabitants is not known, about 87,000 people live in the department of Néma (Census 2013). Parts of the population continue to live as semi-nomads.

- 1 Koumbi Saleh (كمبي صالح) (about 120 kilometers south of Nema near the Malian border.). It is believed that this was the capital of the medieval empire of Ghana.
- 2 Oulata (ولاتة). Oasis city and world cultural heritage since 1996 about 80 kilometers north-north-west. The place is connected via an unpaved runway.
