Nablus is the origin of the dessert Knafeh. This consists of goat cheese and some pastries and is covered with sugar syrup and is eaten warm. The city also holds the record for the largest knafeh ever made (72m by 2m weighing over 1.3 tons). In the souq there are several cafés where Knafeh can be tried.
