Narva-Jõesuu[1] is located in the eastIn Estonia, about 15 km north of Narva.

Before World War II, Narva-Jõesuu was an elite holiday destination with its villas and spas. During the World Wars, the buildings were destroyed and the importance of Narva-Jõesuu as a holiday town diminished. After the wars, during the Soviet era, Narva-Jõesuu became more active when resorts were built there for the use of the middle class. But with the break-up of the Soviet Union, tourism to Narva-Jõesuu decreased again. Some of the resorts are now deserted, but some spas are still operating.
