In addition to the city of Managua, which has increasingly spread out into the surrounding area - especially since an earthquake in 1972 destroyed the historical center - this part of the country mainly consists of the "pueblos blancos" which were and were centers of the (arts) craft even before the colonial era it is to this day.
language
Even if there are more people in Mangua (especially in high-class restaurants and hotels with an international clientele) who can speak English than in the "flat country", Spanish is the first choice for almost all communication. Taxi drivers and police officers in particular rarely or never have greater knowledge of foreign languages.

Managua has the country's only international airport. Several international bus routes connect Managua with other countries in Central America and sometimes even Mexico.

Managua is the center of virtually all transport connections in the country, both by bus and by plane. From Managua, small regional Minvians travel regularly to Masaya and several of the pueblos blancos
Tourist Attractions
Managua itself has few attractions for a city of this size, most of which are in the Managua-Article to be discussed by yourself. The only outstanding sights to be mentioned here are the new (with over forty domes, which arouse various associations from mosques to nuclear power plants to female anatomy) and the old cathedral (which cannot be entered due to the risk of collapse) as well as the silhouette of the national hero Augusto C. Sandino, which is located on the Loma de Tiscapa, the location of the former presidential palace and the alleged place of his murder, and is visible from large parts of the city.
In the pueblos blancos there are a number of attractions including:

- the house where Sandino was born in Niquinohomo

While the temperatures in Managua are almost always above 30 °, Carazo (Jinotepe, Diriamba, San Marcos) is known for its clima fresco (fresh climate), which means that it is usually a few degrees cooler than in the capital. The wind blows, which makes even the hottest months (April and May) a little more pleasant.
