Nicosia is the administrative capital of Cyprus. It is divided into two parts, with the Greek part to the south and the Turkish part to the north by the “green line”, a demilitarized zone occupied by the United Nations.

The old town, with its museums and churches is quite pleasant. Small cafes invite you to drink Cypriot coffee. You can also walk around to discover the many woodworking shops, and to take a ride to the Green Line, the border that now divides north from south.
