Nurota is a city in Uzbekistan.

The city is said to have been founded by Alexander the Great in 327 BC. The city was laid out to conquer Samarkand from here.

Nurota is approximately 60 kilometers north of Navoiy. From there you can get to Nurota by taxi or minibus.

- 1 Chashma source. The holy Chashma spring is the destination of many pilgrims who fill up the water and take it with them. Around the spring there are mosques and a small local museum. The fish swimming in the spring basin are also considered sacred.
- 2 Alexander the Great fortress. The fortress in the south of the city towers above them. You can climb the fortress and from above there is a picturesque picture. Like all adobe fortresses, there is only one castle hill left here.
- 3 Bronze Age petroglyphs (rock carvings)
