Gastronomy
Among the many interesting and delicious dishes typical of the region, such as meat with vegetables wrapped in banana leaves, the most unusual snack sold in handfuls are chapulines, i.e. deep-fried grasshoppers (really tasty!). When it comes to alcoholic drinks, the mezcal, known as "oro de Oaxaca", or gold, is definitely typical of the region. The taste resembles Polish moonshine, served with a bit of chili and a quarter of orange. A worm is obligatory to swim in the original bottles.
