Upper flax is a Swiss Municipality in the Brugg district.

The wine-growing village of Oberflachs is located in the Schenkenberg Valley, which is from Schinznach village On January 1, 2014, Oberflachs merged with the town of Schinznach-Dorf to form the new Gemenide Schinznach.

The village does not have its own train station, but is connected to the public transport network with the Brugg - Thalheim post bus line.

In the street

The connecting road leads through the village from Schinznach-Dorf via Thalheim to the Staffelegg pass. A side street leads to Veltheim.

Tourist Attractions

  • Kasteln Castle. The castle now houses a school home for children with special educational needs and is therefore not freely accessible. However, it is possible to arrange a viewing by calling 41 056 443 12 05.
  • The two Cent sticks in the Adelboden part of the village date from the time of the governors. The smaller one from 1720 is still inhabited today. The larger one from 1732 belongs to the Pro Oberflachs Association, which organizes 3-4 picture exhibitions per year.
