Actobsk region - one of the 14 circuits in Republic of Kazakhstan. It is located in the central-western part of the country. The city is the capital of the region Aktobe. With an area of 300,600 square kilometers, the Actoban Oblast is the second largest administrative unit in the country (only the Caraganda Oblast is larger). It borders on the following circuits: Atyrian in the West, Mangystausian on the south-west, Caragandan on the east, Custanic in the northeast, kyzyłordiński in the southeast and West Kazakhstan in the northwest. The Ilek River, a tributary of the Urals, flows through the Aktiubin Oblast.
