Orchard Road is the main shopping street of Singapore. Orchard Road becomes Bras Basah Road in the east direction.
Understand
The name Orchard Road dates back to the 1830s, when nutmeg trees were cultivated here, which still provide some protection to passers-by from the blazing rays of the sun and the rain. Of course, many people prefer to walk the huge underground network connecting shopping complexes to each other. On weekends, indeed, we see a surge of masses of visitors in a frenzy of purchases of all kinds. It is only at the eastern end of the street, Bras Basah, that shops deign to give way to exquisite colonial architecture and some of the city's best museums.
the luxurious and quirky Christmas decorations that traditionally adorn Orchard Road in winter are definitely worth a visit, with its reindeer frolicking between palm trees and gingerbread houses sprinkled with fake snow.
