It is the part located to the west of the A602 motorway cutting the city on a north-west - south-east axis. The north of the area as well as the part on the edge of the Meuse is a densely populated popular suburb while the hill of Cointe is very wooded with a number of bourgeois houses and villas dating from the beginning of the XIX^e century.
