Parintins is a city in the east of the brazilian State Amazon. It is known nationwide for the folk festival Boi-Bumbá, which takes place every year in June.

Parintins is on the island Tupinambarana near the right bank of the Amazon between the city Santarém in the east and Manaus in the West. The place was founded in 1803 under the name Vila Nova da Rainha, 1880 were given him under the name Parintins granted city rights.
