On the way, the extension of the savanna vegetation and the first stop with the beginning of the discoveries of what are the “Encantos do Jalapão” (Jalapão Enchantments). In the Canyon of Susuapara, the few droplets of water that fall from the immense rock wall refresh tourists, in their first contact with the region's beauties, without even imagining the ones to come.

The journey continues totaling 300 km from Palmas to Jalapão. Here you can practice adventure tourism, canoeing and bathing in crystal clear rivers. Close to the municipality of Mateiros, the jalapones oasis item is reinforced by the challenge of sand density in the region's two water springs called fervedouro. They form a kind of pool that does not allow bathers to sink. The feeling of being pushed through the sand and floating is something that impresses everyone.

The region, which is also made up of waterfalls such as Formiga, is a small waterfall that is fascinating to anyone's eyes because of its greenish-colored crystalline water that allows you to see the bottom of this natural corner.

The charms of Jalapão are not only formed by water. The attractions are diverse. Among the twisted trees of the cerrado, where birds and other animals hide, it is also possible to find plants from the region, such as Jalapa, which gave rise to the name Jalapão, and the delicacy of some flowers with their different shapes, colors and sizes.

In the middle of these same trees it is possible to enter a trail and suddenly come across a beautiful lake and, further on, with an immensity of sand that form the dunes of Jalapão. Flanked by a stream that runs calmly along its banks, the dunes have an orange coloration that reflects even more that desert with the rays of the sunset.

As pleasant as the dunes, the view from the Serra do Espírito Santo viewpoint is the reward for the 500 meter climb. For nature lovers, the indescribable view of the valley that seems limitless from the top of the mountain and its various varieties of plants from the cerrado fill the eyes as much as the view of erosion caused naturally by the action of wind and rain that seem to sculpt the mountain, forming a wonderful canyon.

A spectacle in itself is the visit to the Cachoeira da Velha, the largest in Jalapão, with 20 meters wide. Fed by the Rio Novo, the power of the water causes a light drizzle in the vicinity of the site, making the climate pleasant.
