The North Macedonia succeeds, for UNESCO, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the convention for the protection of the world, cultural and natural heritage signed on . The first protected site has been inscribed since 1979.

Macedonia has 1 mixed site registered with World Heritage.
