The original language is Euskera, considered the oldest on the Continent. The Basque people were once independent and had their own kingdom known as the Kingdom of Navarre. Centuries later, the northern part was occupied by the French state and the southern part by the Spanish state. Since then, there have been conflicts in the region.

The Basque Country is characterized by being mountainous and quite humid. It is bathed by the Atlantic on its coast that lies on the Bay of Biscay. The Pyrenees give it a mountainous configuration, although the south of the regions of Alava and Navarre Sul is characterized by being flat and drier.

Health

respect

Respect the language and culture of Eukadi/Basque Country. The Basques are proud of their culture and will naturally be happy to have you enjoy it. However, it is better not to confuse the Basque Country by saying it is Spain or France. A lot of people don't like that. They are not very friendly, especially with Brazilians. They seem to imagine that they are independent of the world, not just of Spain.
