Perchtoldsdorf is a market town in Lower Austria, in the immediate vicinity of Vienna on the eastern edge of the Vienna Woods and has about 15,000 inhabitants.

getting there
The 1 Perchtoldsdorf train station is located relatively far east of the town center. With public transport, it is recommended to travel from Vienna either with the express train to 2 Station Vienna-Liesing
and continue by bus 256, or by tram line 60 to the Rodaun terminal and bus 259. From the Rodaun tram station, it is a 15-minute walk to the center of Perchtoldsdorf.

The community area is quite extensive due to the high proportion of private homes, but is well served by 3 city bus routes and local buses in the Eastern Region Transport Association.
Tourist Attractions
The medieval town center is supported by the 60 meter high Gothic 1 Defense tower (1450 - 1521) dominated the immediately next to the Gothic 2 Parish Church of St. Augustine (1270) stands. Behind the church is the 11th-century ducal castle, which hosts a festival in July. The Gothic ones are worth mentioning 3 Hospital Church (1406 - 1419), the town hall from the middle of the 15th century, the 4 Trinity Column, Plague column on the market square and the baroque palace 5 Knappenhof
activities
Perchtoldsdorf is the starting point for hikes in the Vienna Woods. Immediately to the west of the local area is the "Perchtoldsdorfer Heide"with a good distant view of the southern districts of Vienna and an endangered ground squirrel (Spermophilus citellus) population.
There is also an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, ice rink and curling rink in the EHZ, as well as a mini golf course in the Höhenstrasse.

Perchtoldsdorf is one of the most popular wine taverns at the gates of Vienna. Many of them are located in Hochstraße (north of the center). A popular meeting place for young people apart from Heurigen is the Cafe beer bar Holzwurm (Hochstraße 10, Tue-Sat. Open from 7 p.m.). Otherwise, the nightlife of Vienna is within reach and night owls can reach Perchtoldsdorf with the night bus to Rodaun and a short walk.
