getting there

In the street

Petit-Bourg is 15 km from Pointe-à-Pitre. National road 1 used to run right through the town. In the meantime, long-distance traffic bypasses this on a 3 km long new line. 2½ km north of Petit-Bourg, the county road D 23 branches off to the west, it crosses the mountain range of Basse-Terre and is better known as “Route de la Traversée”, which was only built in the 1960s.
