This almost circular island is located about 5 km east of Windward, CARRIACOU. It is 195 ha in size. The island is a 250 m high volcanic cone with the two small towns Black Town and White Town. During the founding period, White Town was inhabited by French boat owners. Their African workers lived in Black Town. It can be reached in 20 minutes by boat from Hillsborough. The inhabitants live mainly from fishing, which is sold to Grenada and the neighboring French islands to the north.
