As a puffy coast (Swiss German for Schnupfen-Coast) is the name given to the left bank of the Lake Zurich.

The Pfnüsel coast includes the city of zurich District 2 with Wollishofen and Enge, the District of Horgen in the Canton Zurich as well as the district Höfe im Canton of Schwyz. Usually only the communities with lake access or on a slope are included. That is why the mountain ranges Albis, Zimmerberg and Etzel can be named as borders.

The larger localities include Thalwil, Horgen, Wädenswil and from north to south Pfaffikon SZ in the community of Freienbach. Other villages are Kilchberg, Rüschlikon, Oberrieden and Richterswil in the canton of Zurich and Wollerau in the canton of Schwyz.

The name comes from the rather shady location of the northern slope compared to the southern slope of the opposite one Gold coast.
