Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park (Vườn quốc gia Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng) - a national park located in the northern part Vietnam, in the province of Quảng Bình, north of the Trường Sơn Mountains.
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park was inscribed in 2003 on the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage List.
Characteristic
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng is located 55 km northwest of Đồng Hới, approx. 450 km south of Hanoi. The park itself covers 857.54 km², and together with the buffer zone it covers almost 2,000 km². Primary tropical forests are the subject of protection, where 751 species of higher plants and 381 species of animals have been found. In the park there are numerous caves and underground rivers, most of them unexplored, forming approx. 65 km long corridors.
