Architecture

The city architecture includes numerous monuments, including the church of Exaltation of the Holy Cross from the 14th century, the church of st. Wojciech from 1896, a gothic castle from the fourteenth century, the seventeenth-century town hall, the building of the former synagogue, the water tower, the building of the medical school on Wolności Street and the market square shaped at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries with buildings near the town hall. There is also a complex of historic tenement houses on Władysława Jagiełły Street.

The barracks built in 1886, which served as a transit camp during World War II, were in the hands of Caritas after 1989, which started the renovation, but did not complete it and returned the ruined complex to the city [29].

There are several monuments and memorials in Działdowo, including at Męczenników Street, Grunwaldzka Street, in the woods in Komorniki, at the parish cemetery, at Nidzicka and Jagiełły Streets [30].
