Praia da Vitória is a city on the Azores-Island Terceira. She belongs to the church Santa Cruz da Praia da Vitória.
background
Praia da Vitória or short Praia was the capital of the island in the 15th century. It was destroyed by earthquakes in 1614 and 1841. In the 20th century, the city gained in importance due to its port, and in 1981 it received city rights.
