Querfurt is a city of about 11,000 inhabitants in Saxony-Anhalt. The former district town is dominated by agriculture. Large silos in the north of the city, as well as the castle complex, which is considered to be the largest in Central Germany, can be seen from afar.

Querfurt, already mentioned in a document in the 9th century, lies on the Querfurt Platte, which is covered with fertile loess soils. The good yields gave the Lords of Querfurt wealth as early as the Middle Ages, which they used to build an extensive castle complex. The well-preserved castle still shapes the cityscape today. Temporary residence of a branch line of the Dukes of Saxony-Weissenfels, Querfurt remained an agricultural town a little apart from great world history.

The closest airport is Leipzig Halle Airport
(IATA: LEJ). With the train, you have to change trains twice and therefore expect just under two hours. The airport is around 70 km away by road.
By train
Of Merseburg a rather rumbling regional train takes 45 minutes to Querfurt. The 1 railway station is located one and a half kilometers north of the center in a business-dominated suburban location.
By bus
Regional buses run from, among others Merseburg, Nebra and Eisleben. The 2 Bus station is located on the northern edge of the city center.
In the street
Querfurt is close to the A38 and A71. The castle is a station of the Romanesque Road.
By boat

You can move around the city on foot thanks to the clear distances. Getting around by car is not a problem either, and Querfurt is not known for having parking problems.
