Quezon is a city in the middle of the Philippine island Palawan.
background
getting there
The first shuttle leaves at around 4 a.m. (just under 3 hours), the first bus at around 5 a.m. (152, 3½ hours), the last bus at 3 p.m., and the last shuttle at 4 p.m. to PPC. However, especially in the afternoon, there is a wait until a minimum number of passengers has arrived. If necessary, you pay for them and then have a comfortable seat with legroom. Shuttles go to Rizal 1-2 times a day, as well as some jeepneys and buses. Unfortunately the last bus already leaves Quezon at 1 p.m. In addition, Berong in the north is approached 5 times a day. There is an attempt to establish a permanent ferry connection to Napsan, on the opposite coast from PPC.

Life is lively in the city of almost 20,000 inhabitants. A visit to the large market is particularly worthwhile on Monday mornings. Then the natives from the mountain ranges also form their own "department" and offer agricultural and handicraft products.

accommodation
- Tabon Village Resort. Tel.: 63 (0)910-2398381. At KM 149.2 an approx. 800 m long path branches off to the left to the Tabon Village Resort. The Belgian Theo has built his own castle island in the sea near the beach, which also houses a restaurant with a beautiful panoramic terrace. However, he does not seem to have a talent for logistics to organize the excursions of his guests. The somewhat older cottages (fan, bathroom) with spartan furnishings in the garden are offered for 450/550 (1/2 people), simple rooms (fan, shared bathroom) for 150/180 (1/2 people). Theo also has 5 simple huts for 250/300 (1/2 people) at the nearby Tumarbong waterfall. The water is transported with the water buffalo, which is why it is called that! On the 20 km southwest (not east as in the manual, then you would be on the mountain) Malapackun island there were also some huts, but the typhoon of 2003 blew them away. Due to the increasing tourism, he may be planning a revival. The food is orientated towards the west and great! You can recommend everything, from expensive - as stated in the manual - there can be no question of it, unless you compare it with the simple food stalls in the city! Of course, Theo also knows how to prepare the original Belgian fries! To get hold of a tricycle heading for the city - many are already fully occupied - the best thing to do is walk along the beach to the small fishing village and wait on the bridge. From here it costs 7, from the resort it costs 15-20 with a special ride (at least 2 people).
