Located in South Dakota, Rapid City is a great base for trips to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Badlands, and Black Hills National Forest.

Rapid City is often referred to simply as "Rapid" by the locals, and the name Rapid City comes from Rapid Creek.
