Red hook is a city in Saint Thomas.

Most of the island's hotels are located on several beautiful sandy beaches between Coki Point in the north and Red Hook Bay in the southeast. Red Hook itself has grown into a bustling mall over the past few years. The hourly ferry service to St. John and the British Virgin Islands made a significant contribution to this. In addition to the ferries, the deeply cut, narrow bay is usually visited by many sailing ships because of its protected location.
Directly south of Red Hook is a heavily frayed peninsula, similar to a hand, there are hotels and other maritime facilities.
beaches
- Bluebeard's Beach or Great Bay. Fine, white sand beach with shady trees and palm trees. Lots of windsurfers come at the weekend. The Ritz Carlton Hotel is nearby.
- Lindquist Beach. Lindquist Beach is accessible via a side path from Route 38. This beach is probably the largest undeveloped stretch of coast in the east. Many locals come on weekends and celebrate parties there. The rest of the time it is often quite lonely but also dangerous. There have been numerous raids there.
- Sapphire Beach. Hotel beach on the east coast, sheltered bay with crystal clear water, restaurant and a marina, very popular with surfers and divers. There are three reefs off the coast. Water sports equipment can be rented through the hotel. From there you have a wonderful view over the island of St. John and the British Virgin Islands.
- Secret Harbor Beach. This beach is popular with windsurfers, swimmers will find a platform to rest. There is a restaurant on the palm-lined beach.
- Vessup Bay. Fine, white sand beach with shady trees and rocks. The beach at the end of Route 322 is currently being obstructed by extensive construction. The bay is very popular with surfers. There is a bar and a restaurant there.

National Route 32 connects Red Hook with Charlotte Amalie and the airport.
By boat
- Transportation Services, passenger ferry, Tel. 776-6282. There is a regular ferry service between Cruz Bay on St. John Island and Red Hook. The journey time is 15-20 minutes. Single fare is $ 3 and children are charged $ 1.
- Departures from Cruz Bay: daily and hourly between 6am and 11pm.
- Departures from Red Hook: daily at 6.30am, 7.30am and every hour between 8am and midnight.
- Car Ferries: Two car ferries operate between Red Hook and Cruz Bay, St. John. The journey time is 20 minutes.

- Departures from Red Hook: Monday to Saturday every hour between 6.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., Sundays from 7.30 a.m.
