Urban centers
- Agsu - In the 18th century it was one of the largest cities in Azerbaijan.
- Baku - Capital of the country whose historic center is a heritage UNESCO.
- Hacıqabul - It takes its name from the lake in its vicinity.
- Khizi - Capital of the Khizi district.
- Qobustan - Settlement near Baku.
- Sumqayıt - Also due to its industrial facilities the Blacksmith Institute, a US institution that deals with environmental pollution, ranked the city first among the most polluted cities on the planet in both 2006 and 2007.

What see
- Ateshgah of Baku - Often called the "Baku Fire Temple", it is a fortified religious temple located in Suraxanı in the vicinity of Baku. Declared the country's architectural-historical state reserve in 2007.
- Yanar Dag (in Italian "burning mountain") - Due to the small but continuous leaks of natural gas, the mountain has fires that never go out, with flames that have even reached 10 meters!
