Rheinau ZH is a Swiss City and municipality in the canton Zurich.

In the municipality area, the Rhine makes a double loop, so that the municipality connects to the Federal Republic of Germany in three directions, separated by the Rhine. The town is located on the western loop opposite the Rhine island with the former Rheinau monastery. The history of the town is closely interwoven with that of the monastery.
