Rheinbach is a city in the Rhein-Sieg district, North Rhine-Westphalia, about 18 km west of downtown Bonn and about 50 km south of Cologne.

The city was first mentioned in a document in 762. During the war, the city fell to France and Prussia.

After the Second World War, several specialist glass companies from the Sudetenland settled here and established Rheinbach's reputation as a Glass city. In 1957, Rheinbach became a Bundeswehr base.
