Rheinbach is a city in the Rhein-Sieg district, North Rhine-Westphalia, about 18 km west of downtown Bonn and about 50 km south of Cologne.
background
The city was first mentioned in a document in 762. During the war, the city fell to France and Prussia.
After the Second World War, several specialist glass companies from the Sudetenland settled here and established Rheinbach's reputation as a Glass city. In 1957, Rheinbach became a Bundeswehr base.

By train
The Rheinbach train station is on the Voreifelbahn. Line S23 runs every 30 minutes (sometimes 15 minutes) along the route Bonn - Rheinbach - Euskirchen – Bad Münstereifel.
In the street
Rheinbach is on the BAB 61 Cologne–Ludwigshafen.
Buses run to Bonn above Witterschlick and Euskirchen.
