Peace River, called Peace River in English, is a town in the north ofAlberta to Canada.
Understand
Rivière-la-Paix is located in the northwest of theAlberta on the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, Heart River and Pat's Creek. The village is located approximately 300 m lower than the surrounding flat ground.
The region around Rivière-la-Paix includes Native American communities to the northeast, French-Canadian farming communities to the south and east, and German-Canadian Mennonite and Hutterite farming communities to the north and northwest.
Story
In 2004, Rivière-la-Paix hosted the Alberta Winter Games. In 2010, in conjunction with Grimshaw and surrounding communities, it hosted the Alberta Summer Games. These games are the most important sporting events in the province.
