Horse is a historic place in the Australian state Tasmania. It lies between the cities Hobart and Launceston in the Midlands area.

Founded in 1812, it is one of the oldest places in Tasmania and still has numerous buildings from that period. Ross gained importance in the 19th century due to its location on Tasmania's main road and its bridge over the Macquarie River. However, Ross remained a small place and was able to preserve its historical appearance.
