In the street
The Bridge of Friendship connects Bulgaria (Russe) with Romania (Giurgiu) across the Danube. It cannot be crossed on foot. Driving on the bridge is subject to a toll.
By boat
There is a small port for cruise ships in Ruse. There is no ferry connection with Giurgiu, which is particularly annoying as the Danube bridge runs far outside the two city centers and cannot be used on foot. A short trip between these two cities is more complex than you might think.

The only railway museum in Bulgaria is located in the building of the first Bulgarian train station. The exhibition contains many exhibits from the history of the railway both in the station building and in the open-air area. You can see more than ten steam locomotives, including the oldest surviving steam locomotive in the country (a P 3/3 z, built in England in 1868) and various railway carriages, including the personal wagons of kings Ferdinand of Bulgaria and Boris III of Bulgaria as well as for the transport of the Turkish sultan from 1866.Open: Nov-Mar: Mon-Fri 9 am-5pm; Apr-Oct: Tue-Sat 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
