Safien is a Swiss Municipality in the canton Grisons. It covers a large part of the Safien valley.

The parish includes the middle and rear part of the Safien. The largest place in the municipality is Safien Platz. There are several scattered settlements in the valley, some of which are no longer inhabited all year round.

Safien has dedicated itself to gentle tourism, so it is rather leisurely.

The Verdam-Safien train station is far outside the municipality. Safien Platz is accessible from the train station with a post bus line.

In the street

At the Bonaduz exit, you have to leave the Chur motorway in order to get to Versam via the connecting road via Bonaduz. There the road branches off into Safien Valley, and you reach Safien Platz past Tenna.

The nature.

  • The Walser house "Nüw Hus" in the hamlet of Innercamana. It is the last house to be built in the hamlet of Innercama, which is worth seeing as a whole.
