Samaná, official name "Santa Bárbara de Samaná", is a city in the province of Samaná in the region Cibao in the north of the Dominican Republic.

Samaná is not only the small port town, the whole peninsula and the administrative district bear this name as well as the deeply cut bay on which the small town is located.

The city was founded in 1756. It was largely destroyed in a major fire in 1946.
