San Pietro al Natisone (San Pietri dai Sclavòns) is a city of Friuli-Venezia GiuliaThis small town of over 2,000 inhabitants is the last major town in the Natisone Valley. This small town may represent a tourist attraction; but it is a starting point for all lovers of hiking and nature.

There are two main ways to arrive in this small town:

• by car, by the SS 54 (Udine / Cividale / San-Pietro)
• by bus: several stops from Cividale throughout the day

To see

There is little to see in San Pietro itself, apart from the village church and fountain.

Do

Despite its tourist attraction, the village is a good starting point for hikes. Another occupation, summer days are suitable for swimming in the Natisone, at the bottom of the stone bridge, towards Vernasso (ATTENTION: deep water with currents in some places).

In the vicinity of San Pietro there are several charming churches and magnificent viewpoints; like for example Azzida (village on the right before entering San Pietro). With its charming church, Azzida holds a little hidden secret: markets that lead back to a fountain that dates back to Antiquity. And also the beautiful panoramic view over the Alberone valley. In the neighborhood Cividale del Friuli, the cave of San Giovanni d'Antro in Pulfero and the sanctuary of Castelmonte must also be visited.
