Schlabendorfer See is located southwest of the city Luebbenau in the Niederlausitzer Landrücke Nature Park. The lake comes from the former Schlabendorf Süd opencast mine. Around the lake there are some interesting places and sights as well as the Wanninchen nature reserve.

The following villages can be found on the lake and its vicinity

  • The villages are to be found in the west Bornsdorf, Beesdau and Görlsdorf.
  • To the north of the lake Garrenchen and Schlabendorf.
  • To the east of it close Zinnitz as well as a little further Bathow at.
  • In the southeast on the small Drehnaer See are located Mallenchen and Princely Drehna.
  • A little to the south are the pottery village Crinitz as well as the small mountains at the Stiebsdorfer See.

getting there

By train

You can travel by train via the regional express line RE10 (Leipzig – Cottbus) every two hours or via the regional train line RB14 (Nauen – Berlin – Senftenberg) every hour to Calau, then continue by bus.

By bus

From Calau by bus to Luckau to the Zinnitz or Schlabendorf am See stop, then continue on the road.

In the street

Coming from Berlin (or Lübbenau) or Dresden, take the exit Bathow (RWBA Autobahnausfahrt.svg 12) from the A 13.

From there to the places Zinnitz or Schlabendorf am See and on to the sights.

By bike from Lübbenau (via Kittlitz, Schönfeld and Bathow to the above-mentioned exit of the A13 or on foot.

Numerous also supraregional cycling routes cross the area. There are five bike paths past the lake, such as B. the Fürst-Pückler-Weg, the Niederlausitzer mining tour and the crane cycle path.
