By plane

The Sedona Airport is located about 3 km southwest of the center and is easy to reach by car. It has no scheduled connections to other airports, but a number of charter companies offer sightseeing flights around Sedona and up to the Grand Canyon. The rocks and canyons look impressive from the air. Sedona Air Tours offers flights in helicopters and open biplanes and you can print out a coupon for a 10% discount on their website. Other providers include Sedona Skytreks and Arizona Helicopter Adventures. Flights can also be arranged on site in the terminal.

There is also one at the airport restaurantthat offers a good variety of food and is often praised for its apple pie.

Private pilots should note that while the 5100 foot runway is usually sufficient, the aircraft performance can be relatively poor in the summer as the airport is at 4800 feet. In addition, it is on a plateau, so that you almost have the impression of landing on an aircraft carrier and especially at the ends of the runway there can often be strong wind shear.

In the street

To the east of Sedona, Interstate Highway 17 runs north-south. Coming from the south, leave the interstate at Exit 298 and follow Arizona State Route 179. From Flagstaff Coming shortly after leaving the city, take Arizona State Route 89A south through the scenic Oak Creek Canyon leads. From the west, follow Arizona State Route 89A north.
