Tourist Attractions
- Chahyesa Buddhist temple. Famous temple founded in 1572.
- 1 Sinchon Museum of American War Atrocities (신천 박물관). Sinchon is the site of a massacre of civilians that the North Korean government has accused the Americans of. (Historians outside North Korea believe that the massacre was committed by both pro-communist and anti-communist military at the time). Expect a pretty one-sided look at history.
- 2 Goguryeo Tombs. North Korea's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. These tombs include the tomb of King Tongmyŏng, the founder of the Koguryo dynesty, who lived in 19 BC. Died.
