In Twin Falls the Snake River forms the Shoshone Falls.

The Snake River Valley is in the US state Idaho. In this wide valley of the Snake River, which runs in the Yellowstone National Park rises and in Washington Much of Idaho's top attractions can be found in the Columbia River.

Regions, places and main travel destinations

The Snake River Valley
  • The Treasure Valley with the places Weiser and Payette.
  • The densely populated Boise Metropolitan Area with the cities Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell and Emmett.
  • The Magic Valley region in the center with the towns of Fairfield, Gooding, Jerome, Shoshone, Twin Falls, Rupert and Burley. One of the main attractions of this region is the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument.
  • Eastern Idaho with the towns of Arco, American Falls, Pocatello, Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Rigby, Rexburg and St. Anthony, as well as the Craters of the Moon National Monument. On the way to Yellowstone National Park you get through Island Park.

  • Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area
  • Minidoca National Historic Site. An internment camp for Americans of Japanese descent during World War II.
  • Minidoca National Wildlife Refuge
  • Camas National Wildlife Refuge
  • Yellowstone National Park. A narrow (and virtually inaccessible to visitors) strip to the southwest of the park is actually in the Idaho area.
