Pine - Sośnie

A pine tree is a large village of about 1,300 inhabitants, located in Greater Poland Voivodeshipin the southwestern part Ostrów County, which is the seat of the Sosno commune. It is located approximately 28 km southwest of the center Ostrów Wielkopolski and is located near the district road Odolanów - Miedzybórz. In the village there is railway stationwhere passenger trains on the route stop Ostrow Wielkopolski - Wroclaw. Rivers flow through the Pine Kobylarka, Polish Water and Młyńska Woda. A settlement also belongs to the village My Will, with a beautiful palace and park.

Worth seeing

It is one of the oldest villages in the Ostrów County, known since 1268 as the property of the bishop. At the beginning of the 14th century, there was a castle here. From the 16th century to 1886 it was in the Międzybórz estate, after which the properties were separated My Will. In the years 1942-44 in Sośnie there was a German labor camp for about 60 people.

  • The main monument is post-evangelical, neo-gothic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1895, the baron's foundation Agnes von Diergardt. It is a pseudo-Romanesque building in the neo-Gothic style, with a soaring tower, internal balconies and pipe organs. There is a tomb of her husband, owner of the My Wola estate, next to the church, Daniel von Diergardt.
  • Modernistic railway station building from 1913.
  • In the south, an artificial reservoir, used as a PZW fishing ground, as well as a swimming area with a beach. With him it begins educational and nature path "My Will".
