Sobotka(German: Zobten also Zobten on the mountains) is a mountain town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in the northwest of the Glatzer Ländchens at the foot of the Zobtenberg im Zobten Mountains in the Sudenten foothills. The summit located in the municipality is about 600 meters above sea level than the town center. Its location makes the place an important center of tourism in the Zobten Mountains. The place is the starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains. It is only about 30 km south of Wroclaw and is served by the regular buses of the metropolitan region.

Numerous traces of the Celts can be found on the mountain range. The place, which has been settled since the Bronze Age, was first mentioned in a document in 1148, the Augustinian monastery on the summit was founded in 1128. Already in 1221 the place received city rights. During the period of Polish particularism, he belonged to changing partial duchies, most recently to the Duchy of Breslau, which became dependent on Bohemia in 1335. In 1742/1763 the place came to Prussia. Tourism began to develop in the 19th century, especially since it was connected to the rail network in 1885. With the exception of the times of the world wars, the place developed steadily. In 1945 the place came to Poland.
