You should definitely devote time to it and the city wall that surrounds it. It stands to reason that on Place Farhat Hached to start in the northeast or elsewhere at the port. If you do this, however, you first have to make your way through numerous intrusive, aggressive sales offers in the quieter streets and climb continuously uphill, not necessarily a pleasure at the temperatures.
If you start at the city gates in the east, it is quieter from the start. Tip: first of all, have a coffee or a refreshment in one of the small cafés with a roof terrace and let your gaze wander over the roofs of the medina that is still below you. During the "descent" you can calmly let the atmosphere of the very beautiful medina work on you and do not get a puff while exploring the numerous small alleys and paths. Don't worry: you can't get lost, the medina isn't big enough for that. When you end up at the Place des Martyrs arrives, you can start visiting the Ribat and the Main mosque crown the exploration of the old town. Directly south of it at the harbor, the market halls with numerous small stalls invite you to visit. A full day is certainly not too short for this program.

The watchtower can be climbed via a narrow spiral staircase, after which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city and the harbor.
  • The 3 Main mosqueMain mosque in the Wikipedia encyclopediaMain mosque in the Wikimedia Commons media directoryMain mosque (Q919958) in the Wikidata database (Great Mosque), built around 851 AD and enlarged several times, has a compact design and a relatively low minaret due to its proximity to the Ribat. activities

Activities can be planned and negotiated with tour operators and sometimes with hotel employees. For example, quad biking, camel or dromedary rides, pirate ship or catamaran rides are offered. Banana boats, parasailing or jet skiing are offered at various points on the beaches. Most of the time, you can save a few dinars on bargaining here as well. Many guests of the activities are photographed by the organizers. These photos can then be purchased.

shop

When shopping, it is important to be careful and mistrustful. In the city center there are often people who claim to have come from the respective hotel. Usually these people are friendly and offer help with orientation or want to sell something. The best thing to do is to reject it immediately and in a friendly manner; Both guests and hotel reviews repeatedly pointed out that the Kobba Bazaar in particular tried to sell inferior goods at overpriced prices. Also be careful with excursion tours that are offered particularly cheaply, they like to have dubious shops as their destination.
