Sysmä[1] is located In Päijät-Häme, about 70 km from Lahti and 185 km from Helsinki.
Sysmä is known as a brick and manor keeper, but also as a summer resort and summer cultural event, such as Suvisoiton. [2], as the venue.

By train
The nearest train station is in Lahti, about 70 km from Sysmä. VR has several daily services from Lahti to different parts of Finland, but especially from the Helsinki metropolitan area (long-distance trains and commuter train Z). Travel time by commuter train from Helsinki to Lahti is less than an hour.
The latest train connection is the Allegro train from St. Petersburg to Helsinki, which means that tourists from Russia can get to Lahti in about 2 hours.
By road
From Helsinki and Lahti you can get to Sysmä along highway 4 and regional road 410.

- Sysmän Kotiseutumuseo , Makasiininmäentie 4, 19700 Sysmä. The Sysmä Homeland Museum is located in a parish warehouse built in 1855, which according to tradition is built on a sacrificial rock. The museum's collections include objects from prehistoric times.
- Church of St. Olaf of Sysmä , Kirkkokuja 1, 19700 Sysmä. St. Olaf's Church in Sysmä is definitely the most popular place to visit in Sysmä. According to the latest research, the construction period of Sysmä Church dates back to around 1510-1520.

- Finnish Accordion Museum, Uotintie 4, 19700 Sysmä. The Accordion Museum opened its doors in the Old Kertu Gallery in 1993. The museum's diverse collection includes 170 instruments from different eras, the oldest of which are from the 19th century.
- Sysmän Teatteritalo, Väihkyläntie 1, 19700 Sysmä. Sysmän Teatteritalo was built in 1898 as a bank building for Sysmän Säästöpankki. - Kammiovuori hiking area, about 27 km north of the church village of Sysmä. On Kammiovuori there is a path about 4 km long marked in blue and white, which rises to the top of Kammiovuori. Along the trail, attractions include e.g. Hezekiah Cave and Boulder Castle.
- Päijätsalo nature hiking destination and observation tower, Päijätsalo island, about 7 km west of the center of Sysmä. Päijätsalo hiking trails and an observation tower built in 1899.
