Shanghai (Shanghai i, Chinese: 上海; pinyin: Shànghǎi) - the largest city China, located in the river delta Yangtze. It has about 18.5 million inhabitants. Shanghai is one of the most modern cities in the world.

The city is a famous symbol of China. It is the main center of this part of the country. The city consists of 17 districts: Chongming, Jiading, Baoshan, Yangpu, Pudong, Fengxian, Jinshan, Songjiang, Quingpu, Minhang, Xuhui, Changning, Huangpu, Hongkou, Putuo and Jing'an. Shanghai is a major communications, commercial and financial, cultural, shipbuilding, scientific and religious center. This metropolis is one of the most densely populated in the world (as evidenced by the traffic in Shanghai).
