In the midst of natural areas, surrounded by flat and hilly landscapes, the small town of Szentendre is located on the Danube arch, not far from the capital Budapest. The historic small town, located directly on the Danube, offers the visitor a beautiful city center. Well known is the open-air museum, which attracts many thousands of tourists every year. The city is in that Szentendre small area.

From the city center Budapest there is the possibility with the S-Bahn-like HÉV to travel to Szentendre. The HÉV line via Békásmegyer north to Szentendre is accessible from the Batthyány tér stop / terminus, which, by the way, is right next to the underground (metro) station. The journey takes about 50 minutes. For the so-called tourist tickets, which are valid for 72 hours from the date of issue and can be used on all BKV Budapest public transport, the ticket price is 3640 HUF per person. The tickets must be presented at the ticket inspection.
